T@lecom Dealer Signs Concord Couriers

CMS have been awarded a 36 month contract to supply Concord Couriers with the Wireless Delivered™ real time proof of delivery system.

Concord Couriers have confirmed an initial order for 45 mobile terminals running the latest Wireless Delivered™ application. This application enables Concord’s express Same day Service drivers to obtain proof of deliveries in real time, including consignee signature capture, which can be instantly via the group web site or even emailed automatically to the shipper.

The application, which can operate on any Windows CE device has been supplied to Concord on the cost efficient O2 – XDA unit which uses optimised GPRS, “push” technology.

The 36 month agreement involves the first phase roll out in February 2003 at the companies Welwyn Garden City franchise and will be initially dedicated to their same day express operation. Further trials will commence for the groups overnight delivery services to provide them with next day delivery and collection management with total tracking and reporting on all customer movements.

Building on the Wireless Delivered™ application, Concord plan to implement a fully integrated mobile communication network by the summer of 2003.
